So, hier mal die antwort von Ian:

I just enjoyed reading that thread using the German->English translator in Google. Half the amusement is from the translation attempt

As some of the people have said, the auto up feature is determined by software inside the BC1 module. There are some "KOMBI SA" data bits that determine things like whether or not xenon headlights are present. My analysis of this last year (for rear fog lights in USA) confirmed that there are no data bits that turn on/off auto up for either window.
Instead it seems to be determined by another code (forget, GE maybe?) which seems to determine the country.
So a MINI set to England allows auto up on the right door; elsewhere in Europe, auto up on the left door; in USA no auto up at all.

Someone might be able to break into the software inside the BC1 and crack it. I did try to buy a BC1 on eBay but missed it. I do not expect that cracking the BC1 software is an easy job - even if possible it is not likely to reveal a simple solution to enable auto up on both windows.

My MINI circuit instead goes for the really simple solution of mimicing closure of the switch input!

In a month or so I will have 128 circuits. To date I have about 75 names for those circuits. If your friends are interested, there should be some circuits available. It seems that some of your friends are very electronic oriented? Perhaps someone has the ability to make printed circuits, program PICs, assemble the circuit, etc. Maybe we can reach an arrangement for you to make your own ...

Bei Ian liegt der einzelpreis bei $39,90 +porto. Ich weiss noch nicht ob wir die teile direkt bei Ian holen, da es gibt evtl. noch andere möglichkeiten.

Mark told me that it is OK to post.

I make the circuit as a "help" to the MINI community. I make a small profit but that is not the goal.
It might be a good thing for your group to make its own circuits. This will avoid me being too busy, no customs or expensive air mail.
You need someone that can obtain "printed circuit boards", someone that can program a "Microchip PIC16F819" and someone to get all the parts and make them.
I will be pleased to work with you - through Mark?

I propose that *one* circuit from me be used to confirm that all is OK in a German MINI, then as a reference to make more circuits.
