Rev limiter ??? - jivecar - 28.12.2002

I was wondering; does a MINI has a rev limiter (rpm begrenzung) ?? Normally I always shift gears at max 5500 rpm, but yesterday the oil was nice on temp and with the digital rev meter on I tried a nice acceleration. I just hit the 7023 rpm @ 2nd gear; there was nothing to stop the rpm meter going in the red...... is there a "begrenzung"???

yes there is a rev limiter (drehzahlbegrenzer). at my mcs it was about 6.900rpm before chipping. after that measure it was lifted to 7.300rpm. how do you know that it was exactly 7.023? i only watch my rev meter with its 250rpm steps during shifting!

Thanks to the service computer (see software thread), at that moment the boardcomputer was showing the digital "drehzahl" (menu 7.3). And this menu is shown in 4 digits.......
