Gewindefahrwerk mini R55 (noise from front suspension) - jazzclub - 22.05.2018

quick story so far and more help needed.

I installed JOM Gewindefahrwerk to my mini cooper R55. Ordered also verstellbare JOM Koppelstangen, which I must say are from very soft material. The "gewinde" on the JOM Koppelstange can be damaged very easily, so decided to change it and ordered bmw model E28 Koppelstanen instead. These are exactly 240mm long like required for the Gewinde fahrwerk and fit perfectly. Hope they dont complain about this in TÜV.

Everyting looks fine, except I can hear slight noise coming from front suspension.
I suspect the Domlager. When I first installed the Gewindefahrwerk I had the Domlager bit loose so there was more noise coming from front. Then I took the front shocks off and tightened the mutter on top of Domlarger and the banging sound alomost dissapearead, however when i take corners or drive over pumps I can still hear some noise coming from front end.

Before i jump to buy new Domlager and have to take front suspension off again would be good to know if anyone has had similar experience? Maybe its the springs that some how make sound?

Feel free to reply in German language

If the noise was not there before with your original suspension, it doesn't mean that your top mounts are bad.

The suspension you chose is very poorly made. I think you should ask a professional.

feel like i need go give update here.
after taking the front suspension off 4 times i finally got it. I think it was a noob mistake instead.

I had 2 small washers /Scheibe on my original front suspension on each side. On my last attempt put the suspension together I used only 1 washer / Scheibe between the top spring plate and Domlager, i also got just in case new Domlagers and its perfect, no sounds, no noise ... nothing, it works absolutely fine.

I get it, its cheap - does not last as long as the expensive stuff, i would never put it under cooper s and after spending about 25 working hours on it, its not as cheap as it looked Smile. But I must say the job its doing for the money under non cooper s is great.

If I could turn back the time, would i do it again? yes for the experience Party!!
