Update – because one question didn't give me any rest: What happened to the car?
I got on the phone and called the agency: The MINI is still alive! The little one survived the carwash without damage. OK, it was wet. But the brave bloke didn't just go through the cleaning inferno once, but three times – mind you, without a trace of any kind of damage. Even the electronics didn't take the mistreatment in the name of research personally and continued their duties with no problem after the shoot.
The small amount of water that hadn't already poured out through the doors was subsequently removed by professionals. Then the MINI was allowed into the sauna. The red convertible was dried for five hours in a special oven. And then? Off it went to the pool – a dry one, however. The pool for photographed cars. The R57 is now waiting for its next assignment.
