Sorry to say this, but I've now had a non-official update from someone at the factory who knows whay they're talking about. The new roof, while quieter and overall better quality, is still rubbing/marking in the usual places. Based on what they have seen, the rubbing/marking tends to be more obvious/more widespread on black roof Convertibles, and less so on Blue, and almost rare on Green (might just be the thickness of the dyes/materials, I don't know). And the problem seems to be a bit hit and miss, although mostly, I'm afraid, hit.

I'm only sharing with people the facts as I know them, either from first hand experience, or from feedback from a person I know well, who is very involved with the production of the cars (and I don't mean some guy on the production line making best guesses at what's going on).

There is more than one roof mechanism, and some people with the new roof are (despite early positive signs, such as better quality parts (in appearance) and quieter operation) still getting scuff marks, in the same places.
