Da Franco in Eppendorf was for many years a highly popular place - always full to bursting, with a great atmosphere, but pretty stuffy as a result. Franco Lestingi finally decided that the rational solution was to find larger premises, so he relocated his restaurant to Hofweg 68, 22085 HH (Tel.: 040-22 69 31 36).
Signor Lestingi is a true professional. His formula in Hofweg includes good traditional Italian fare, reasonable prices, a spacious terrace and an inviting indoor restaurant complete with indirect lighting. Plus music, attentive and charming service staff and an inspired menu that is subject to constant up-dates. This includes starters like turkey breast on radiccio (EUR 9) and around 15 different main dishes, all expertly prepared and lovingly presented for between EUR 7.50 and EUR 16.50.
At lunchtime diners can choose between four set three-course menus (EUR 7 - EUR 8.50). The chef is happy to respond to special wishes wherever poss-ible. Diners leave feeling really well looked after; this friendly and welcoming approach is definitely one of the reasons that most of the restaurant's long-standing regulars from Eppendorf think nothing of crossing town for a dose of feel-good dining at their favourite eatery!
