Noch ein Gerücht zur WWDC: Neue iMacs im "Brushed-Metal"-Design
9to5mac meint, zur Apple-Entwicklerkonferenz (WWDC) am 11. Juni könnten neuen iMacs erscheinen. Im Gegensatz zu den aktuellen Modellen sollen sie im "Brushed-Metal"-Design daherkommen und sich äußerlich an den aktuellen iPod nano, an das MacBook Pro und den Mac Pro anlehnen. Als Chipsatz sei die Plattform "Santa Rosa" von Intel im Gespräch, das größte verfügbare Display könnte größer als das bisherige 24 Zoll-Modell sein. Gleichzeitig, spekuliert 9to5mac, werde Apple das 17 Zoll-Format aufgeben und stattdessen ein günstigeres 20 Zoll-Modell anbieten.

Ein Teil der Gerüchteküche glaubte, dass Apple zur Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in der letzten Woche eine neue Generation des iMacs vorstellen würde. Diese Hoffnung hat Cupertino nicht erfüllt. Die Gerüchteseite AppleInsider glaubt aber weiterhin daran, dass ein größeres Update des iMacs bevorsteht - das noch in diesem Sommer (Ende Juli bis Mitte August) folgen soll. Die neuen 20- und 24-Zoll-Desktop-Macs sollen ein neues Design bekommen, das sie unter anderem schlanker macht. Den 17-Zoll-iMac soll es hingegen nicht mehr geben.
