MINI "to remain as British as a Full English Breakfast", while being produced World Wide?
Following on from our story of rumors that a MINI SUV may be produced in Austria, member of the BMW board, Dr.Streichmeister, has made some strange and very interesting comments in an address to members of the press at the opening of BMW's new production facility in India.
While the ears and eyes of the motoring media focused on the words of Dr. Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, it was comments made by Dr.Streichmeister that caught our eyes. During his speech he included MINI when speaking of the success of BMW's international production, alongside the parent company's other brands.
When later pushed for further explanation on this apparent slip up, Dr.Streichmeister commented "We simply see no reason why the new MINI will not be produced globally, say, within the next 10 years". When asked if that would undermine the unique British Flavour and appeal of our favourite little car, he commented "A BMW produced in the USA is just as German to me as one produced in Germany, and a MINI Clubman made in the USA, or a 4x4 in Austria, or a Hatchback coming from this very plant (Chennai, India) will be every bit as British as one produced in Plant Oxford". Addressing a gaggle of British Journalists, he said, bizarrely "If you're in a hotel in Germany and order a Full English Breakfast, you don't question that the bacon is Danish and the beans from North America, it's still an English Breakfast, and the MINI will be a British Car, where ever it's final assembly may be".

ja, ich wollte heute den ganzen Tag lang die Totenruhe nicht stören

war gestern und heute urfleissig - hab gestern bei meinem neuen Bootshänger die Achse verstellt, damit die Gewichtsverteilung mit dem Boot halbwegs passen wird, hab noch einige Anbeiteile verschieben müssen und bin trotzdem nicht wirklich glücklich damit.
Morgen will ich das Boot einmal drauflegen - das bedeutet mit altem Hänger und dem Boot drauf + dem neuen Hänger (also mit 2 Autos) nach Krems in den Hafen, Boot vom alten Hänger ins Wasser slippen und entweder gleich oder nach dem Fahren auf den neuen Hänger drauf und danach die Anpassungen vollenden, damit ich mit dem Boot am neuen Hänger heimfahren kann. Liest sich einfach, ist aber eine scheiss Arbeit.
Heute (na, eigentlich gestern) hab ich noch bei Suzuki und Espace die Sommerreifen montiert und bei der Gorilla den Vergaser abgestimmt. Jetzt passt er so, dass ich die Andrea endlich damit fahren lassen kann, obwohl, für mich Mister 100% ist sie immer noch nicht optimal abgestimmt. Genau das ist mein Problem, auch beim Hänger, ich mag keine halben Sachen und möcht immer alles 100%ig haben, und das geht fast nicht.
Naja, wenigstens ist der viele leere Raum im CA ein bisserl weniger geworden durch meinen Beitrag. Geh jetzt auch heidi

dann will ich auch mal fleißig gewesen sein hab gestern angefangen das mfl und den bordcomputer nachzurüsten. mini steht ohne lenkrad da - und ich steck fest weil ich held crimpkabel aus einem stecker gezogen hab und nicht markiert hab wo sie herkommen. klugerweise ist das auch nicht im tis oder in einer eba vermerkt na selbst schuld. jetzt muss ich warten bis sich einer erbarmt und kurz mal sein lenkrad demontiert um mir zu sagen welche farbe in welches loch gehört.. ist ne arbeit von 45minuten - wer sich opfert wird entlohnt von mir dann kommt heute die zweite schicht kleber auf meine schürze und die schraube wird in den s-spoiler eingeklebt damit der dann auch montiert werden kann.. nächste woche dann noch den klebesatz bei bmw für den spoiler holen und die noch fehlenden kabel für den bordcomputer.
tom und erich - ihr habt euch ja auch gedanken um die unterste lippe bei der front gemacht, weswegen ich jetzt mal auf breiter front eine umfrage gestartet hab (steht eh in jedem Thread das gleiche

Hab gestern mein Thermostat eingebaut das nächste ist Öltemperatur und Boostanzeige einbauen ich gustier halt noch wegen den Instrumenten da gibt doch sehr viel verschiedene

hast meine pn wegen ölablassschraube bzw ölfilterdeckel gelesen, erich? wenn du also was nicht ab werk mäßiges vom instrument nimmst, dann fällt die ölablassvariante eh flach
übrigens gibt es hier http://www.powerminis.com/showthread.php?p=18270#post18270 eine qualifizierte antwort zum thema kante unter der front
