I did mine just over 2 weeks ago.
1st I would recommend google Mini R56 Radiator Service Mode and watch the Bentley Publishing (USA rival to Haynes Manuals and much better) You Tube video.
With the car in service mode you have more room to do things.
NAM USA forum and Pelican Parts USA website have good how to guides and technical information to follow.
I fitted the JCW Turbo to my MCS at same time as changing the oil feed pipes and fitting a JCW Stage 1 exhaust manifold. Also fitted my Evolve FMIC and did a coolant flush and changed my water pump. I was going to do thermostat and high pressure fuel pump at same but gave up.
If you have the tools, the time and a garage rather than drive like I used I would say go for it but allow plenty of time. My weekend turned into approx. 5 days on and off whilst waiting for some tools and parts.
Also if going to this amount f labour best to do as much as you can at same time. New oil feed pipes are a good idea whilst you have access but this does mean taking turbo off.
