To your questions, yes it is possible to change the pulley by yourself, even though I am telling you, it´s pretty hard. HITEC uses a special tool for taking the pulley off.
Yes, Franz is able to provide you with the modified software. For this, you need a special tiny box (OBD3) and cables to connect it with your car and a computer. You can order this tool on the MTH page.
Then you send the readout to Franz and he will send the "new" software.
